Edited by Iain Bain including Prefatory Note and Commentary. One of 100 (200) special copies which includes an original print of Bewick's "Waiting for Death" wood engraving printed from the wood by Iain Bain. Signed by Iain Bain below a facsimile signature of the Master. Set in Bulmer type and printed on Magnani Avorio Biblos paper. 6 X 6 ins. Not paginated but 36 pp. Quarter cloth with marbled paper covered boards by Antonio Velez Celemin. Bound by the Fine Bindery . Frontispiece portrait of Thomas Bewick in 1812, in pencil and watercolour, by William Nicholson. Includes two facsimiles of Bewick's Notes and a silhouette of Robert Pollard by Bewick as well as the print "Waiting for Death" both printed from the wood. As new and held in a tweed chemise with Bewick's initials on the inner flap.
