A Journey from Oxford to Coventry with fifty wood-engravings by John Craig. Number xxvii of 43 (350) special copies bound in full brown Nigerian goatskin with gilt spine titling. Engraving from the text printed in black on tan leather and inlaid within a circular panel let into the upper board. Headbands, top edge gilt. Whittington marbled paper endpapers by Colleen Gryspeerdt. Accompanied by a portfolio containing signed and dated proofs of twelve of the engravings by John Craig. Set in 12 pt. Monotype Walbaum roman and italic and printed on Zerkall mould-made paper. 10.5 X 7.5 ins. 69 pp. Both volumes enclosed in cloth covered slip case with an enlarged and reversed-out line-block reproduction of a John Craig wood engraving. A fine copy of a sought after rarity.
