One of the scarcest and most sought after images by Barnett Freedman. “This graceful lithograph of a nude girl is a superb example of the sculptural quality of his (Freedman’s) design and draughtsmanship.” (Ian Rogerson, “Barnett Freedman the graphic art” published by the Fleece Press, 2006). The presentation, “For A & J” refers to Julian Salmon who was a Director of Lyons Tea Shop and whose name was on the back of the original mount for this lithograph. Salmon commissioned Freedman to brighten up Lyons Tea Shops following the War with his colourful posters and designs.
