Each of the four Christmas Cards signed by John and Ruth Christoforou. John Christoforou (1921-1014) was an expressionistic figure painter on a heroic scale. Soon thereafter he and his wife moved to Paris and remained there for the rest of his life. He was given several Gallery shows at Rive Gauche and in 1965 he won the International Association of Art Critic’s Prize in London. His work was particularly popular in the Nordic countries. His work is held in may public and private collections including the Tate Gallery. Very good to near fine condition.
