Octavo. 8.25 X 6 ins. 154 pp. Quarter bound in oasis leather with gilt rule and tips. Japanese paper covered boards. Gilt title on maroon leather spine label. 8 coloured facsimile pages of passages from the diary. An intimate self-portrait of the great man living in poor circumstances in Paris recalling days gone by and hoping for better things tomorrow. Near fine copy.
