London: Constable and Company, 1932.
By George Bernard Shaw. First edition. 8.25 X 5.5 ins. 75 pp. Pictorial paper covered boards with wood engraving by the artist. Title page, endpapers and 19 wood engravings by John Farleigh. A fine copy of the little book which popularized wood engraving more than any other book published between the wars. The first edition sold out in one week. John Farleigh’s wood engravings attracted most of the critical acclaim. Mr. Shaw was not pleased!
