One of 90 (340) special copies which includes an original illustration and an original lithographic Christmas card housed in a pocket inside the rear board. Printed by J. W. Northend Ltd., Sheffield on Parilux matte cream paper. 12 X 8.25 ins. 20 pp. + 120 pp. with illustrations in colour (95) and black and white (48) including tipped-in and folding plates and half tone photographs covering all periods and aspects of the artist’s career. Quarter bound in red buckram with repeat pattern paper covered boards after a border device by the artist intended for an Imperial Airways poster, 1937. Bound by the Fine Book Bindery, Wellingborough. Title on paper spine label. The original lithographed Christmas card dates from 1957 and was designed and lithographed by Barnett Freedman for the Directors & Members of the Leighton-Straker Bookbinding Company. This is the Fleece Press’ second volume devoted to Barnett Freedman and was produced, in the words of Simon Lawrence, to “brighten up a cold winter”. As new in slipcase as issued.
