Celebrating the eightieth anniversary of Robert Frost’s first Christmas Poem, “Christmas Trees” which was printed by Joseph Blumenthall at his Spiral Press in New York. Printed without his knowledge, when Frost saw the result he was very pleased and sent copies to his many friends and relatives. So began the run of 25 Christmas poems each printed by the Spiral Press. This eightieth anniversary chapbook re-publication has engravings by Abigail Rorer and an afterword by Frost scholar and collector, Pat Alger and is signed by Alger and Rorer on the Colophon. Number 56 of 100 copies set in Deepdene type and printed letterpress on Zerkall Book paper. 6 X 4.5 ins. 12 pp. Hand-sewn into Rives paper wrappers with two-block colour wood engraving. Text illustrated with 4 engravings printed from the original blocks. All engravings by Abigail Rorer. Chapbook and prospectus loosely inserted in clear wallet. As new.
