An account by John Dreyfus of Eric Gill’s collaboration with Robert Gibbings in producing the Golden Cockerel Press edition of “The Four Gospels” in 1931. One of 450 copies printed at Meriden Stinehour Press. Main title and chapter headings set in Golden Cockerel type at the Rampant Lions Press. 13 X 9.25 ins. 105 pp. Full bound in cloth with gilt title on spine and Gill device on upper cover stamped in gold. Numerous photographs of the great book in production including Gill’s original drawings, progressive page layouts, typography, forme of type, etc. A fine copy.
