Baskerville type and printed on mould-made paper. 11 x 7.5 ins. 312 pp. Bound in crushed purple morocco, in tribute to great Caesar, with gilt spine titling and gilt device on upper and lower covers. 14 wood engravings by Clifford Webb including full page frontispiece, three vignettes and ten head-pieces. Here Caesar comments on his many campaigns over Europe with precise accounts of all his battles. Usual browning from turn-ins and previous owner’s bookplate on front free endpaper. A fine copy.
