Gilt title on spine. T.E.G., others uncut. The prospectus states, “Mr. D. H. Lawrence consented to the publication of a special limited edition of “BIRDS, BEASTS AND FLOWERS”, for which he wrote especially an introduction to each of the nine parts. He wished the book to be illustrated by Mr. Blair Hughes-Stanton, who was in constant touch with him, and who has designed ten full-page engravings and two head-and-tail pieces, which form a beautiful commentary on the text.” A near fine + copy with clean endpapers and in its original glassine jacket which is slightly chipped.
