Cloth-backed with grey paper covered boards. Paper tile label on spine. Frontispiece self-portrait and 20 plates by Laura Knight – 4 in full colour. The subjects of the drawings have been chosen to illustrate the artist’s tremendous variety of interests: landscape, figure, portraiture, the stage, the dressing room, the cafe and the zoo. Likewise, the meiums are various: pencil, chalk, charcoal, line and wash.Tipped-in on the front free endpaper a long letter from Laura Knight to a fellow artist, Trevor, promising to look for his water-colour at the R.A. hanging and thanking him for sourcing frames for her paintings. Internally fine but for browning on endpapers. Exterior corners worn with upper part of spine label chipped.
