One of only 30 copies (total edition of 300 copies) bound in quarter natural vellum by Smith Settle with a loose wood engraving, “Jeu de Boules, Vence, 1922”, made by Gwen Raverat herself, contained in a pocket on the rear paste-down. Set in Scotch Roman type at Whittington and printed on Zerkall paper. 12.75 X 8.5 ins. 149 pp. + Colophon. Quarter vellum with Ann Muir marbled paper covered boards. Gilt spine title. Illustrated with over 75 wood engravings many pulled from the original blocks. The ultimate catalogue raisonne including a Select Bibliography, a Documented List of books and prints and an Index to books and prints. In the Colophon Simon Lawrence states, “there are some books by which I hope my publishing career will one day be judged, and this will be one of them.” An especially fine copy in original drop-back box.
