Written, illustrated with woodcuts and binding design by William Strang. Foolscap 4to. 8.5 X 6.75 ins. 56 pp. + 5 pp. advertisements. Pictorial tan buckram with title on spine and upper cover in black. Title page and 12 woodcuts accompanied by humorous verses by William Strang. This being the first published woodcuts of Mr. Strang who played a significant role in the revival of hand-printed books. Although conceived as a children’s book “A Book of Giants” appeals to all ages; one of Mr. Strang’s fearsome ogres gobbles up a cyclist and then perches his bycycle on his nose for a pair of spectacles. Near fine with a few bumps and bruises. Difficult to find in this condition.
